Too firm for effective gradients

Disclaimer: I have loved every product I’ve received from Holo Taco so far, though unfortunately this set of sponges has missed the mark. I was so excited to try these, after the set I had from elsewhere was coming off in bits on my nail when finishing gradients. Though in the end, these seem to be far too dense, absorbing the color inside it’s firm blocky ways - and the sponge itself acting almost like a buoy, bouncing off my nails when I dab dab dab, instead of comfortably forming to my finger. Regardless of how many times I tried to re-up my polish, I was met with the same results and eventually returned to using my off brand sponges that have a bit more give, and overall more stable coverage with less polish use.

Sponge test

I recommend these tried and true sponges as used in the videos and with the types of polish she does. I say that because I recently tried a different makeup sponge type thinking they were all the same. Incorrect! If you don't match the sponge to the type polish and intended result, then you risk ending up with bits of sponge breaking off, wasting more polish than necessary, and a wasted sponge if it gets in too deep and dries. I did deduct one star since these aren't to be washed and re-used, but I think a future version with that option would be awesome!

Better than expected

I have used really cheap ones from a local store before, but these are so much better! They are firmer and they soak up less polish while giving the same result. Still a tiny bit expensive.
