Chunky texture way too soon

I purchased protective peel in mid-November learn how to do nail gradients. I vaguely recall opening this once shortly after receiving just to check the texture, but then I stuck this in a drawer (still in its box) to save for later. It's been five months, but when I went to use this for the first time today, the product is now chunky and watery at the same time. Despite thoroughly shaking the tube, the latex coagulated beyond use. The package indicates 14 months in the "use by" symbol, and I'm well within that window. Unless you're planning on using this product in every mani as soon as you receive it, I'm not sure anyone could get through this product before the texture changes.

It’s ok.

I bought this for the second time to use while painting short nails. Did exactly what the instructions said and found that you really need to add a thick layer to even see the peel after it’s dried. I thought I messed it up the first go because I was moving and the bottle was subject to a few dramatic temperature changes. Couldn’t hold the product at fault. I’m sure it is doing what it’s supposed to, but I’m positive this just isn’t for me.

Works really well, you just have to remember to use a ticker layer.

Did I get a bad bottle?

After doing more than 1 finger it gets gunky and as I try to apply more it ends up sticking it what I’ve already applied and peeks it off. With so many great reviews I have to think my bottle is defective.
